Phishing is an online scam where a cybercriminal impersonates a trustworthy entity to obtain sensitive information from its victims. And according to various sources it’s on the rise.
Perhaps one of the most startling statistics is that phishing attacks using the LinkedIn brand having increased by 232% since 1 February 2022 (source: Egress). And with so many business professionals using the social platform now, there is cause for concern.
So, with this increased threat, we’ve teamed up with ESET, our advanced cyber security partners and market leader, to host a security webinar – HackedIn via LinkedIn on Tuesday 14th June 2022 from 11am to 12 midday BST.
And we have a special guest presenter in the form of Jake Moore, a global cyber security advisor at ESET. A former police officer investigating computer crime in the Digital Forensics Unit and Cyber Crime Team in Dorset, Jake has investigated 100s of crimes. He has spoken on numerous national and international TV channels including BBC1 Panorama, BBC News Channel, Channel 5 and GB News.
In Jake’s seminar you can watch him unfold a targeted phishing attack via LinkedIn on the CEO of a company and see how easy it is to manipulate anyone into handing over their personal credentials.
